                     Learn To Play The Exciting Sport Of Tennis This Summer

 

     Summer Tennis Clinics sponsored by the Franklin Youth Tennis Association will

be offering group and private lessons for youth and adults.  Lessons will be conducted

at the Macon County Recreation Park tennis courts.  Teaching Pro Mariona Trillo from Barcelona, Spain will teach lessons each Wednesday beginning June 15th and ending August 5th.

 

    Mariona played 3 years at WCU and is currently a teaching pro

at High Hampton Country Club, Cashiers, NC.  Mariona also

assists with the Smoky Mountain HS Girls Team.

Her enthusiasm for teaching the sport is infectious and fun for all

ages.  Assisting will be current & former FHS tennis coaches and

players.

 

    Cost for youth is $75 for all sessions or $15 per lesson.  Adult cost is $20 per session.  Private lessons are available for $35/hour for students & $50/hour for adults.

Lesson times as follows:  (1) 10 - 11 AM (ages 7-9), (2) 11 AM -12 PM (ages 10-13), (3) 1-3 PM (private/semi private lessons), (4) 3:00-4:30 PM (ages 14-18), (5) 4:30-5:30 PM (adult clinics).  All checks should be made out to FYTA.  For additional information, call

FRANKLIN’S ANNUAL OPEN TENNIS TOURNAMENT TO  BEGIN JUNE 12, 2015

Continuing on prior years success, plans have been finalized for Franklin’s annual open tennis tournament.  The event will take place June 12 - 14.

 

Players will compete in divisions based upon their declared skill level as opposed to USTA ranking.  Competition is played in  men’s singles and doubles, women’s singles and doubles, and mixed doubles.  Individuals are limited to two events.

 

All money raised benefit the varsity boy’s and girl’s tennis programs.
